Last Sunday a mum came to me and asked me why one of my Sunday School techers had asked 2$ for the photocopies she had handed out to her students.
This mum said that she herself gives her offering to the Church and It is the Church who has to pay this stuff, not parents.
She was very unconfortable with all this.
I was very upset and sad at the same time.
What is you opinion?

if you have a photocopy machine available to your teachers, ask the teacher to please this method for her copies. Then she is not out any money. While teaching a Sunday School class myself, I saw how expensive it can be. We keep a Sunday School supply closet that is stocked with the basics and has a copy machine in it avialble to our teachers. If you don't have this but have one for your use as a staff person, perhaps you could run it off for her. I have told my Teachers, if they can't find some they need in the closet to let me know by Wed. and I will take care of it for them. Maybe that would be something you could do. Just some thoughts. Thanks Susan. It is a good piece of advice. We don t have one photocopy machine. It is ok. The point is how sad is facing parents who are not givers.
Thanks for being the other side!
God bless you!

Hi Natalia. welcome to the world of leading a children's ministry.... Thankfully most of the parents are fantastic & give you nothing but encouragement & gratitude for what you do but there's always going to the be the odd one that will cause a certain amount of grief.
I think my first comment back to this parent would have been, "I'm really not sure. Did you ask the Sunday school teacher in question why she was charging for it?" The Bible does say that if we've got something against our brother then we should go to our brother to sort it out. So this parent should be asking the teacher about it, not you. If not sortable there, then take it to the next level (you). Most parents when they find out that a lot of the Sunday School expense comes out of the teacher's pockets are quite happy to help cover the costs. Good open communication is the key. Hope it helps. Bless you

You know what? You are right!
I should have asked her to go and speak to the Sunday School teacher!
Thanks Rhonda!
