I am looking for cheap artwork of Bible Stories. The reason is because our church can't afford some of the good stuff out there and we need to paint some good lookin bible story pictures on some walls. Any suggestions you have would be great.

Well, one idea would be that you could go the old fashioned over head projector route, you may not even know what that is, :) I can explain that if you need me to. You just find any picture you want from a book or coloring book, use a copy machine to print it on a transparencey and project it as large as you like on the wall. Trace the picture on the wall and then you can paint it in. We have not used this method in years, but it sure works great. Outlining in black letting that dry, then painting in the colors will give you a bold look. If you have someone that is artistic, they could make the traced picture look even better.
It is cheap if you have the over head....

May I also recommend a little device called The TRACER. The pro is about $60 and acts like the overhead projector but actually can use ANY image - no worries of transparencies, or strange angles, its' VERY good and you can pick it up at Michael's or AC MOORE.

Istockphoto.com has a lot of art that may work for you. A lot of these artists will create something for you at a very cheap price. Many of these artists are trying to get their name out there.

www.drawyouapicture.com is the website of a popular contributor on cmconnect named James Kennison. He's a drawing maniac. I'd look him up because he's not only reasonable in terms of pricing, he's quite handesome to look at as well.

Another idea would be to find some local graffiti artists and see if you can't get some Bible stories drawn up in a graffiti style...which in my head all fo a sudden sounds really interesting. Hmmmmmmmm.....

If you use the overhead projector, you can get some clipart at www.iclipart.com. You have to join, but it's not very expensive and you can preview to see if you find what you need. If you join, you'll have access to great clipart for a year! Plus, you're not breaking copyright laws if you join & use it.
